Ladies Section

Welcome from Linda Gregory - Lady Captain 2024

This is the second time I have taken on the role of Lady Captain and on behalf of the Ladies section, I would like to welcome you to our club. It was a privilege to be Captain in 2012 and I look forward to representing all the ladies again this year.

I have been a member of Stock Brook Manor for over 23yrs now and think of the Club as my second home! Over this time I have made many lasting friendships and in the past have served on the Club Competitions Committee and as Secretary on the main Committee for many years. Our Ladies Day is a on Tuesday when we tend to meet up for coffee before the golf and possibly a glass of wine after the golf! We also have an alternative day, which is Saturday, for those of you that work.

In the winter months, we run 9 and 18-hole fun competitions, weather permitting, before moving onto our Trophy and Qualifying competitions in the Spring. All our competitions are entered via our HowDidiDo booking system, which you can either do online, or by using the clubhouse terminal once you are registered and have your handicap.

If you do not yet have a handicap, we can help with this. We have many members that will be happy to play the required number of rounds with you, to enable you to submit cards and obtain your handicap. We also have our Captains’ days in the summer which are great social days as well as enjoying the golf. The ladies have an ‘away day’ where we go to play at another course and enjoy a meal together. There are other social events throughout the year for everyone to enjoy.

I’m really looking forward to working closely with both the Club Captain, Michael McGowan and the Senior Captain, Kevin Friend this year. The ladies section have a great relationship with the Men’s section and we have many mixed competitions at weekends so please join in as many as possible, as these events are great fun. If you would like to enter, but do not have a partner, we have many men that would be more than happy to play.

From April to September along with my husband, Mark, we run the popular Thursday Club Nights which are a great way to meet other members and enjoy 9 holes of golf. It is run on a turn up and play format from 4pm with prize presentation and meal in the clubhouse when everyone is in.
