PLEASE READ THIS BECAUSE SLOW PLAY IT ISN’T ALWAYS SOMEBODY ELSE’S FAULT!
On every tee be ready with club in hand to play as soon as it is your turn |
If your long hitters are waiting for the group in front, let the short hitters go first |
Throughout the round keep a watch on where your partner(s) ball comes to rest so that you can assist in locating it in need |
Play ‘ready golf’ when appropriate. |
If in doubt as to where your ball has come to rest, play a provisional ball if the rules permit |
Throughout the round use the time needed to reach your ball to plan your next shot and then be ready with your chosen club to play as soon as it is your turn |
Immediately you reach the green and before putting always take your bag/trolley to the side of the green where you will exit for the next tee |
Be ready to putt when it is your turn by reading your line whilst waiting. |
First player to hole out gets the flag |
When all players have putted out clear the green immediately. Do not remain on the green to mark cards or determine how many shots you have taken. Do the paperwork on the next tee |
REMEMBER IT IS YOUR DUTY TO KEEP UP WITH THE GAME IN FRONT AND NOT JUST TO KEEP AHEAD OF THE GROUP BEHIND |
IF A HOLE GAP APPEARS IN FRONT OF YOUR GAME ALLOW THE FOLLOWING GROUP TO PLAY THROUGH |
IF ONE OF YOUR GROUP’S BALL CANNOT EASILY BE FOUND LET THE FOLLOWING GROUP THROUGH WHILE YOU SEARCH |
Always rake the bunker when exiting it. Leave it in the condition you would wish to find it. |
Always repair your pitch marks on the green and, if you do not hold up following players, take a moment to repair one or two other pitch marks |
